I didn’t like tomatoes, broccoli, avocados, and a variety of other things as a kid, which is kind of ironic now that I’m a vegetarian and love all of them. I hope my daughter will enjoy a variety of foods as well, so it’s been fun to come up with new mixes and see what she likes (so far she likes everything- I’m hoping that lasts 🙂 ).
The following are some of my favorite puree combinations that I find myself sampling as I feed my daughter:
Mix 1/3 of a mashed banana + cinnamon + 1-2 oz. plain whole milk Greek yogurt
Blend cooked lentils + no-sodium veggie broth + cooked carrots together
Fruit N’ Oatmeal:
Top baby oatmeal cereal with peach/apple puree + a dash of cinnamon & nutmeg
Green Pea “Guacamole”:
Blend 1 oz pureed peas + 1/2 a mashed avocado together
Blend cooked yellow squash + butternut squash+ carrots + zucchini + no-sodium veg broth + a sprinkle of curry powder together; just before serving, mix in a bit of Quinoa Cereal to thicken it up
