I asked my husband to buy whipped cream with “the least amount of bad ingredients” and he brings this home…
…but it’s easier than I thought to make homemade whipped cream!
I’ll be honest, I was mildly annoyed.
(He thought he was being funny).
But after googling, it’s actually quite easy to make whipped cream and it tastes so much better than the kind in the can! You do need an electric mixer though.
Homemade Whipped Cream:
Really it’s just chilled whipping cream and whatever sweetener you’d like to add- We put half the pint in the mixer and mixed on a high speed until it started to look thick, then added maple syrup and mixed until stiff peaks formed.
PS: Half a pint makes way too much whipped cream for two people to eat in one sitting.
So instead of eating way too much ice cream with whipped cream multiple days in a row (doesn’t that sound fun though?) I layered the following for a simple and tasty breakfast:
Greek yogurt, strawberries, whipped cream, and granola
